Andrei Ananov: biography, jeweler's personal life

Andrey Ananov was born in Leningrad. The most famous jeweler of Russia in August celebrated its 72nd anniversary. This is a man of many talents, but he found himself in jewelry. Now Andrei Georgievich is the general director of the Ananov jewelry house. He was born in a family of professors. If he had graduated from a university, he could have become a good physicist, but Andrei became a director, wears the title “Honored Artist of Russia”.

Andrei Ananov graduated LGITMIK. By education he is a director of drama theater and cinema. In his youth, he did not disdain any work, due to which he gained invaluable experience as a mechanic and turner at the factory. Was the cabin boy on the sailboat. After graduation, the director's activity started. Ananov worked in the theater of drama and comedy on the Liteiny, in the Samara theater, in the Academic Drama Theater named after Komissarzhevskaya.

Then I had to travel around the USSR. Andrei Georgievich staged performances in Novgorod, Pskov, Volgograd, Petrozavodsk, Kazan. During the theatrical career he directed 44 works. One of the best performances was "Running" by Bulgakov.

Andrei Ananov. Biography

An important role in the formation of the personality was played by the environment in which the jeweler grew up. Andrei Georgievich Ananov had a very intelligent family, his father and mother were professors: his father was a professor at ITMO University, his mother was a geobotanical professor. Father passed World War II. My maternal grandfather, Nikolai Mezentsev, was a count and a real state councilor. Father's parents were also nobles. And the great-grandfather is a famous doctor, whom Nikolay II himself elevated to the nobility.

The jeweler inherited from him a manor a few dozen kilometers from St. Petersburg. Both father and Andrew himself were engaged in the restoration of their ancestral castle. Now it is warm and comfortable there, as if it transfers to the XIX century.

About the manor

The country house of Andrei Ananov can rightly be called a family castle. It was built on land that a hundred years ago belonged to his great-grandfather, a famous doctor.

Unfortunately, this house burned down long ago, one foundation remained of it, which became the basis of the new house and the whole estate. Andrei Ananov restored it with amazing jewelery accuracy. Now the house has the appearance of a real castle, there is a summer roof terrace. On the one hand, the estate is protected by a birch alley, on the other - lime. On the territory of a lot of bushes, because the owner does not like English lawns.

This is the same house in which he now works and in which his personal life flows. Jeweler Andrei Ananov spends a lot of time on his estate, once in 10 days leaving for the city. The workshop is equipped there, he calls it the main room in the house.

Ananova family

Andrey Ananov met his first wife at Lenfilm, her name was Valentina. They lived cheerfully and cheerfully. The young theater-goer was only 21 years old when he started a family. Andrei Ananov admits that there was often not enough money, but his youth did not give the right to be sad. Once Valentine left a note in which she admitted that she loved another. In the 90s she died from cancer.

Ananov's second spouse was named Stella.

His third wife, Larisa, Andrew met when he was 42 years old, and she was 21. At that time he was an ordinary theater director. Moreover, he was married to Stella, he lived with his second wife for 13 years. Ananova always had a lot of fans, but he did not give anyone a chance and directly said that he loved only his wife. So it was with Larisa.

The girl at that time worked at the recreation center, where many young generals were spinning. Andrei hoped that Larisa would find a rich husband and everything would be fine with her. But once he saw in her a confident woman and a talented theater-goer. The girl graduated from college and became a director. Ananov helped her in every way, was worried about the sessions, and put his soul into it. At some point I caught myself thinking that I fell in love with Larisa. The question of the official wife remained open, but she also resolved it. The woman asked directly about whether Andrei had a mistress, and he told the truth.

Soon they celebrated a gorgeous wedding with Larissa, but there was nowhere to live. For a week, the newlyweds settled in a motel, and then rented a one-room small apartment.

Recall that the third wife of Andrei Ananova, Larissa, presented him with two beautiful daughters: Anastasia and Anna. It was Anya who wanted to entrust his jewelry business.

The current wife of Ananova (Elena) also bore him two daughters - Masha and Olya.

The most important product of the master was the family. Jeweler Andrei Ananov became a grandfather not so long ago, his two older daughters, Anya and Nastya, presented him with grandchildren.

How did you come to jewelry?

Once, Andrei's friend needed financial assistance, he came to a friend and noticed a table with interesting tools in the corner of a communal apartment during another glass.

A friend admitted that this workplace belonged to his father, who was a jeweler. He taught his son several wisdoms, and he sometimes earns it. Ananova interested in this question. He invited a friend to make a silver ring and sell it.

That evening, the future jeweler for the first time took a file in his hands and fell in love with this thing forever. A friend taught him several lessons, and Ananov began to master this science. Since then, directing tours took with him a suitcase with tools. So Andrew had his first clients. On the word-of-mouth radio, this specialist was advised to friends and acquaintances, and his parents' friends brought vintage jewelry, because they trusted him more than workshops. The beginner jeweler has learned a lot from rare things.

Classic self-taught

Ananov did not have mentors, he had to learn everything himself. All the jewelry masters at that time were quietly working in their workshops, the old craftsmen died or left for other countries. The beginner jeweler had to make the tools himself. Fortunately, he had experience with metal, because during his school years he worked at the factory as a mechanic and turner. And in his childhood he repaired kitchen utensils and electrical appliances.

But a jeweler, in addition to gold hands, also needs a delicate taste. There was a little work. Ananov went to museums, studied from books, watched magazines and gained creative experience. At first he tried to copy, because imitation is an obligatory stage of development. A good artist is the one who first learned to copy the master. Only then does your handwriting appear.

For a long time, the young man was sharpening his skills; light work with a small income gradually grew into more complex jewelry. Ananov Andrei Georgievich wanted to know all the subtleties of this business, he even learned to cut stones in order to have complete freedom in the flights of fantasies.

Work on the verge of crime

Andrew admits that he is a very vain man. In his ambitions - to enter the history of Russian jewelry art, as Faberge did in his time. Therefore, on many of his products, Andrew put a stigma.

But jewelry art died in Russia after 1917. Many masters worked on the sly. Ananov did not hide from anyone, because the law applied to those for whom jewelry was the main income, while Andrei Georgievich at that time worked in the theater.

But there was one unpleasant incident. Ananov had a client who paid off not with money, but with diamonds. Andrei Georgievich, of course, was delighted, because in jewelry it is a valuable material. And soon they came to him with a search. He hid pebbles in a bowl with half-eaten borscht. Such a theater was appropriate, because the issue of its freedom was at stake.

Out of the underground

Ananov first in the Soviet Union received the first license to work with gold and silver. It was 1988, Andrei Georgievich made small Easter eggs and sold through his own channels, but there was no hallmark of the assay. It was a criminal situation. And then Andrei Ananov decided on a desperate step. He collected a collection of things that he did with his own hands, put them in a small suitcase, and went to Moscow. There he made an appointment with the chairman of the committee on precious metals and stones of Russia.

Waiting for the queue, went to the office. He walked in silence, sat down, opened the suitcase and said that if you are a bureaucrat, you can safely call the police, and if you are a specialist, professional and patriot of your country, then please help. Evgeny Matveyevich put a magnifying glass in his eye and for a very long time looked at the creations of the hands of a novice jeweler. Then he picked up the phone … and dialed the number of the North-Western Assay Inspection, they say, here in his office is a capable young man, you need to help him. He signed a contract with a company that had permission to work with precious metals. So he had a cover.

Ananov about diamonds

Girls' best friends are diamonds. Ananov corrects this statement: girls' best friends are guys who give diamonds. Why did he become the "king" of precious stones? The fact is that a diamond is very difficult to process (diamond is the material from which a diamond is made).

Hands to cut a diamond at a time when there were no computer devices, it was quite difficult. The stone was stuck on a stick and turned one face on a diamond washer. Then the diamond was re-glued and made the next facet. And so 57 times.

It was almost impossible to manually make the edges even and identical. Therefore, all the old diamonds are crooked. But, oddly enough, this is where their charm lies. It is like a human face: if it has absolutely correct proportions, it is dead, dull.

The price of a diamond is most influenced by the quality of the material. If a stone to a carat does not have a special value, then diamonds are higher than carat in terms of the purity of the material and the quality of the cut. The cleaner, the more expensive.

"Faberge" from Ananov

Once Andrei Georgievich organized an exhibition of his works in Petersburg. Mrs. Sobchak was present. The jeweler gave her a small egg pendant. After some time, the woman put on the jewelry at the reception to the ambassador. A representative from the Faberge House was also there.

In conversation, he let it slip that none of the Russians did not inherit the Faberge case. Sobchak did not lose her head and showed the presented pendant. He was sent for examination and was admired by the virtuosity of its creator. The company "Faberge" was experiencing not the best of times, and was interested in maintaining its prestige.

Representatives of the company immediately went with a contract to a talented master. It said that Faberge is a brand, and Ananov is a representative of a new level in products of their class. The company allowed him to put the Faberge stamp on their products. But Andrei Georgievich refused, because he had his own name and wanted his children to continue what they had begun. Then the company changed the name of the stamp to "Faberge from Ananov", to which he gladly agreed.

Later it turned out that the French had used Ananov for their own selfish purposes. In fact, it turned out that Andrei Georgievich had to give them half of his earnings. He broke the contract with them after 2 years and never once put on their products the stamp that they permitted.

Himself a PR man

Still, the director's vein sometimes made its way through the jewelry talent of Ananov.

Once he was visiting Monte Carlo. Although he did not have a large amount of money, he decided to stay in the most prestigious hotel. In the room, the jeweler discovered champagne and a postcard from the hotel director. Andrei Georgievich took advantage of this opportunity and decided to make an adventure. He gave back his business card with a small pendant. The result was not long in coming: the jeweler was invited to dinner. It is worth adding that the hotel director was familiar with the Prince of Monaco. Now Renier III has a collection of works by Ananov.

The secret of happiness from Ananov

Andrei Georgievich considers himself to be an absolutely happy person. He has everything: the name, the money, and the beautiful family. It is worth noting that he achieved this himself.

Most of his life he pored over the metal, and the number two became for the jeweler a wife and children. Andrei Ananov admits that he did not notice how his two older daughters grew up. He left when they were still asleep, and came when they were already asleep.

But the basic rule of behavior is to do everything possible, but only in the range in which it is allowed. Even if nobody knows about these actions, anyway, a person blush internally, he is ashamed of himself. This Andrei Georgievich could not afford. The unspoken rule guided him all his life.

Ananov always worked hard, the money really got to with great difficulty. When on one side weights finance, which should ensure the activities of a large firm, and the second - the art that you want to do, you have to keep a balance all the time. Otherwise they would be either beggars or unknown.

Andrei never envied those who easily cut the money. Means that come easily, they go easily and go. Ananov never sought for very great wealth, but he was not a beggar either, because he had worked all his life. He always leaves room for perspective, because without it, it becomes uninteresting to exist.

Ananov can safely recognize that he has no competitors in Russia. Indeed, in 1917, the Bolsheviks killed jewelry art, and in the west this same art killed money. Practically none of the modern jewelers does anything with their hands. All given over to the power of machines. Jewels are being cast together with stones, which Ananov considers a crime. First, they quickly fall off, and secondly, such products do not have a soul. By the 400th anniversary of the house of the Romanovs, Andrei Georgievich created one of his most masterpiece works.
