The current Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation A. N. Tkachev (born 12/23/1960) has come a long way as an economic manager: from a mechanical engineer at a plant for processing agricultural products to the director of this plant, and then after almost a decade and a half of leadership of Krasnodar Region was co-opted into the government RF.
Where did Alexander Tkachev, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation begin his life journey? His biography began in the Kuban, in the relatively young village of Vyselka, which was formed at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. According to Tkachev himself, said in an interview with the well-known TV presenter Vladimir Pozner, his father is a Kuban Cossack, and his mother is Ukrainian. In the documentary film by Alexey Pivovarov “Bread for Stalin”, Alexander Nikolayevich claims that his father’s parents were dispossessed during collectivization as owners of five horses.
The origins of welfare Tkachev
But by the time of his birth, father Nikolai Ivanovich Tkachev (by the way, who managed, in spite of his youth (1926), to make war on the Great Patriotic War fronts) already held a considerable position in Vyselkovsky district executive committee - he was deputy chairman. When Sasha was only 14 years old, his father was entrusted with the construction of a plant for the production of animal feed in Vyselki. It was successfully completed (and how else could it be in the USSR?), And Nikolay Tkachev became its director in the early 80s. The plant had the status of inter-farm, i.e. it was built with the money of several collective farms, and the activity of its director was under the control of the council of their chairmen. This enterprise became the basis, the cornerstone of the current agro-industrial empire, which is owned (even if informally) by Alexander Tkachev, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, together with his relatives.
Children and youth
Sasha's childhood was cloudless. A tall handsome boy was a universal favorite, like many Soviet young men of the 80s, was fond of playing the electric guitar, graduated from music school, sang in the youth ensemble, engaged in athletics (received even a master of sports) and played basketball for the vyselkovsky team (good nature awarded his true basketball growth).
After school, Alexander Tkachev entered the Krasnodar Polytechnic Institute, and after graduating in 1983 and having acquired the qualification of a mechanical engineer, he was distributed to his father’s factory in Vyselki.
Production experience and the beginning of political activity
Who started his career as Alexander Tkachev, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation? His production biography began in the factory boiler room, of which he soon became head. Who knows the production firsthand, he agrees that it is troublesome. What did the current Minister of Agriculture Tkachev distinguish himself at the beginning of his career? His biography (production) was swift, but rather short. After a couple of years, he was appointed the chief mechanic of the plant, and his former colleagues remembered more as an active participant in the factory amateur performances, guitarist and accordionist. A young and promising specialist attracted the attention of the first secretary of the Vyselkovsky district committee of the CPSU, Alexei Klimov, and already in 1986 Alexander Tkachev became the head of the district Komsomol committee in the same Vyselki.
We did not know how the years of perestroika passed in the deaf Kuban province and what the Vyselkovsky Komsomol members were doing at that time. They say that at first Tkachev could not work in any way with his deputies - he had already replaced five of them during the year. However, he spent four years in his post. And the 90s came …
At the beginning of the dashing 90s
How did Alexander Tkachev, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation continue his career? The biography of him in this difficult time made a turn, and he suddenly turned out to be the director at the factory of his father, who became the deputy of his own son. How could it happen? It is obvious that by 1990 the young party leader was “screwed up” that the struggle for Lenin’s work was unpromising. From the height of his life experience, 64-year-old Nikolai Tkachev already realized that thousands of hungry and desperate “guys” would soon appear in the country, from whom the family’s only active asset in the form of the Vyselkovsky feed mill would need to be protected (by that time it had absorbed the nearest enterprise “Myasoprom”, therefore became known as “Agrocomplex”). And only son Sasha can do it.
Alexander Tkachev, the minister of agriculture in the current government of the Russian Federation, came to the secretary of the district committee Klimov and said that he no longer wanted to lead the Soviet people (within the Vyselkovsky district) to the victory of communism, but wanted to engage in agriculture. And he peacefully released him from a responsible post for free navigation through life.
Nowadays there are no independent agricultural enterprises in Vyselkovsky district, all arable land (except for several dozen farms) with an area of 200 thousand hectares, all enterprises processing agricultural products belong to Agrocomplex CJSC, which now bears the name of N. I. Tkachev. In fact, the country's largest latifundiya was created, which employs 22, 000 people. And given that Alexander Tkachev is the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, it may well expand to a national scale.
How did it all begin?
How did Alexander Tkachev, Minister of Agriculture in the current government of the Russian Federation, achieve such an unprecedented commercial success? His biography as an entrepreneur is rather intense. Until 1993, Agrocomplex survived only thanks to preferential state loans, but then everything worked out.
Return to politics
Throughout the 1990s, Alexander Tkachev, the Minister of Agriculture, whose biography is the subject of our research, formally headed the fast-growing firm. However, the true leader and master was still Tkachev Sr. Working together, the family has achieved considerable success.
Time then was interesting. The edge of almost 5 years (since 1996) was headed by a charismatic leader, a communist Nikolai Kondratenko. He strongly opposed market transformations, desperately fought against the dissolution of collective farms, but missed another danger - the expansion of large private agribusinesses that “ate” Kuban collective farms in one sitting along with their land, living creatures, productive assets and people.
It is noteworthy that a year before Kondratenko’s victory in the regional elections, Alexander Tkachev beat him as an independent candidate in the elections to the State Duma. To defeat a communist rival, he used pro-communist rhetoric in agitation, which was rather strange for a large entrepreneur, but that time it worked.
Having become a regional leader, Kondratenko held an independent position in relation to the federal authorities and tightly controlled all the processes within the region, so he had to establish relations with him. Therefore, Alexander Tkachev in his political views at that time strongly "moved." The Communist Party claims that at that time he was a member of it (Tkachev himself denies this). At least, in the next elections to the State Duma in 1999, Tkacheva was nominated by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and supported by the governor.
With the coming to power of Vladimir Putin, the “freemen” for local Russian leaders has ended. After the new president, along with the Russian army, “broke” the Chechen separatists, Alexander Kondratenko, who, after the Khasavyurt agreements, “flirted” with the leadership of the so-called Republic of Ichkeria and even opened its pseudo-diplomatic representation in Krasnodar, it was clear that his time was in power has expired. Kondratenko did not argue and refused to participate in the elections of the governor in 2000, having supported the hero of our article as his successor.
What was remarkable about the time when Alexander Tkachev, the Minister of Agriculture, headed the region? The biography (a photo of Tkachev at the beginning of the governorship period is shown below) as a regional leader began with very drastic measures aimed at curbing the influx of illegal migrants from the North Caucasus and Transcaucasus to the Kuban. Today, when the world media is full of reports about the struggle of the European Union with the illegal entry of refugees from the Middle East and North Africa into its territory, few Russians think that the Kuban (like the neighboring Stavropol region) is in this mode throughout the post-Soviet period.
What is characteristic, in the Soviet period the problem of migration was not so acute, in principle, all Caucasians could live normally on their lands, everyone had enough work and wages. But after the collapse of the USSR, the economic situation in the Caucasus and Transcaucasia deteriorated sharply. How representatives of the Turkic and Semitic peoples behave in this case, we see today on the example of Europe. In the same way, the Kuban and the Stavropol regions experience constant migratory pressure from the East.
How did the new regional leader Tkachev act in this situation? He turned to the old Cossack traditions, forced his countrymen to remember that the Kuban Cossacks were a kind of border guards between the Caucasus and Russia. The men in the villages began to distribute Kuban, whips and trousers with stripes, to unite them into Cossack squads. The revived Cossacks became a real force in the region, which, along with the security forces, maintains social order in it.
When last year Russia was openly denounced on many issues, when there was a problem of restricting food supplies from abroad in response to the economic sanctions of the West, the president needed in the government not just a skilled and energetic manager (there are already a lot of them). a patriot who is not afraid to express and defend his national position, even different from the generally accepted one. And Alexander Tkachev, Minister of Agriculture, whose biography has always been associated with agricultural production, came in a new position at an opportune way. His determination to resist the pressure was expressed in sending contraband food under the caterpillars of bulldozers, which clearly showed all the enemies of Russia: there will be no retreat.
Now Tkachev is actively engaged in import substitution policy in Russian agriculture. Of course, he sees this replacement as the creation of many firms, similar to its own Agrocomplex, because it simply does not have any other experience in the countryside. Good or bad for Russia, time will tell. In any case, at this stage his efforts are welcomed by the president and the majority of the population, and this is the main thing.
A few words about personal life
And how does Alexander Tkachev, the Minister of Agriculture, biography, whose family interest many Russians, look on this side? The only wife of Tkachev, Olga Ivanovna, also from Vyselok, is the contemporaries of Alexander Nikolaevich, she studied with him in the same school. Olga Tkacheva is an economist by education. She studied in Krasnodar, as well as her future husband. Today is a housewife.
The couple Weavers have two daughters. The elder Tatyana is married to the famous Kuban businessman Roman Batalov, the youngest Love after finishing school in 2010 was fascinated by painting, participating in international competitions.
