Maria Merry spent about 10, 000 pounds (13 thousand dollars), turning the old helicopter into a home theater.
Maria, 46, paid £ 950 for a decommissioned aircraft and flew it to her home in Chippenham, located in Wiltshire.
Inheritance from nanny
Now in the nose of the helicopter there is even a secret mini-bar.
In addition, the helicopter is equipped with a sofa bed, a fog generator and an arsenal of custom sound effects, as well as a dispenser of sweets.
In an interview with the British edition, Maria said the following:
When at the end of the day I saw this helicopter, I immediately realized that I had to buy it: it was sold at a bargain price. Creativity is my second self, everyone was so amazed when they saw what I did. I looked at him, appreciated whether he would fit in my garage, and decided that he should become a member of our family. I love aviation, fast cars and things like that. The 10, 000 pounds sterling spent on his transformation was the legacy of my nanny, Rose Billard, after she died three years ago and made me promise that I would spend the money on something special.
The fateful trip to the museum
Maria and her 11-year-old son Freddie saw a helicopter on sale at the Museum of Helicopters during a day trip to Weston-Super Mare. The son noticed a photo of an old helicopter put up for sale and jokingly said: "Can we buy it?" The staff answered in the affirmative, and mom also agreed. True, the son said that he was joking - the helicopter was in a deplorable state, but Maria said that she, in turn, spoke in all seriousness.
Then the woman posted a request for help with the project on Facebook, and the answer was surprisingly not long in coming. Those who wanted to help were pleased to respond. All the work together with the equipment cost Maria about 10, 000 pounds sterling.
For her, of course, this is her little life victory and achievement. Maria shared with reporters that she was incredibly pleased when the garage door opens, and she sees her “child”. After all, she turned absolutely "dead" thing into useful and enjoyable.
But whoever is more happy is probably her Freddie, because her mother showed such an incredible creative ingenuity that someone can only dream of. And what a brilliant parent life hack: now the guy, and the mother too, will surely not be bored on weekends, and it is not a shame to shake in front of my friends what they have not.
