The man who headed the industry of a huge country and developed the industrial power of the state, political and state leader - Andrei Pavlovich Kirilenko.
He was born in the Voronezh province in 1906. From the age of nineteen he began to work, he learned early the hellish work of a miner in the Donbas. An ordinary activist, he rallied a young generation around him.
Since 1929 - a member of the Komsomol organization, since 1931 - a member of the AUCP. In 1936, he successfully graduated from the Aviation Institute, worked as an ordinary engineer at the core plant in Zaporozhye.
The political repressions of 1938 naturally led to an acute shortage of managerial personnel, and the enterprising communist was attracted to party work. Andrei Pavlovich Kirilenko successfully proved himself to be a strong-willed, purposeful and energetic leader.
Future prospects were opened with serious. A year later, Andrei Pavlovich was appointed second secretary of the Zaporozhye Regional Committee. He works with full dedication. The country was on the verge of hardship, was not ready for war, and time was running out. At this time there was an acquaintance with Leonid Brezhnev, secretary of the regional committee of Dnepropetrovsk.
In 1941, the war began … The merciless enemy was rapidly approaching, it was necessary to immediately evacuate the industry to the rear areas of the country. The second secretary in the shortest possible time competently organized the transportation of plants.
The head worked out an unmistakable plan for relocation back in 1939 - he thought so far-sightedly and rationally. Since November 1941, he has served in the military council of the army.
A strong and active business manager and organizer, in 1943, Andrei Pavlovich Kirilenko was sent as plenipotentiary representative of the State Defense Committee to the aircraft plant in Moscow. Thanks to the work of a talented manager and his practical ability to mobilize, output for the front increased significantly.
The communist did not spare himself. In 1944, an experienced leader was immediately sent to restore industrial facilities in Zaporozhye as the second secretary of the regional and city party committees.
In 1946, Leonid Brezhnev was officially appointed to the party leadership of Zaporozhye, appointing Kirilenko as first assistant. Teamwork brought them together and made friends; until the end of their lives, they remained loyal associates.
Andrei Pavlovich, as the closest friend, said the winged words on the anniversary, that 70 years for the head - the average age. In 1947, Leonid Ilyich transferred to the party management of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Committee, in 1950, Andrei Pavlovich Kirilenko took the post. The photo below was taken during a visit to the plant.
This area is a strategic center for metallurgy and engineering. Here, under the general guidance of the regional committee secretary, the mass production of combat strategic missiles was launched without delay.
Later, when Brezhnev became the head of the country, career advances began for reliable people with whom he had previously worked successfully. The overwhelming majority of henchmen worked in the regional committee of Dnepropetrovsk, therefore the expression “Dnipropetrovsk team” went for a walk.
The ability to make the right move
The success of the secretary in managing the region was noted by the Center, so Kirilenko was entrusted with the industrial heart of the USSR - the Sverdlovsk region. The territory has been actively managed by an experienced, efficient manager who has gone through the war and is restoring industry from the ruins.
As L.I. Brezhnev continued to move toward the heights of power, Andrei Pavlovich also moved. In the years 1955-1962. He stood at the head of the Sverdlovsk Regional Committee. It is said that he was the initiator of the construction of mansions for the reception of Moscow officials.
Having learned about this initiative, the nearest neighbors frequently visited the region with a request to share project documentation. Under his leadership in the field were actively used shop methods of construction of individual dimensional parts.
Blocks and panels were mass-produced by an industrial method, which guaranteed quality. Construction industry enterprises were built, new and obsolete Ural factories were created and improved.
Intrigue in the manual
At this time there was a backstage struggle for power in the Center, in which representatives of the regions participated. In 1957 in Moscow, Andrei Pavlovich Kirilenko, together with a group of high-ranking comrades, signed a paper on convening the Central Committee and dismissing Khrushchev. True, speaking at the Plenum, he defended the party’s first secretary and denounced the “opposition”.
In June 1962, Kirilenko immediately flew to the city of Novocherkassk, where the workers staged a spontaneous unauthorized rally. The situation was gradually getting out of control.
Andrei Pavlovich intentionally exaggerated when personally reported the situation. By decision of Nikita Khrushchev, troops entered the city, and later consent was obtained to use weapons.
In 1962, Kirilenko Andrei Pavlovich falls into the Politburo. The inner-party struggle was in full swing, gradually removing political monsters: Molotov, Malenkov and Kaganovich. Soon came the turn of Nikita Khrushchev.
Since 1966, Andrei Pavlovich has commanded the Soviet industry, in the office he does not sit, but rushes into the thick of the people, to where the great construction projects are. The manager completed the task: the giants of mechanical engineering and energy were finally built.
Kirilenko had an indisputable authority, they reckon with him - he is the third man in the party. Andrei Pavlovich - a representative of the Brezhnev group in the political leadership. In the 70s he was considered the probable successor of I. Brezhnev as secretary general.
Andrei Pavlovich Kirilenko got acquainted with the activities of the Stavropol Regional Committee in 1978 and spoke extremely negatively about the work of N. S. Gorbachev. Kirilenko considered it inappropriate to transfer the latter to Moscow.
Relations with Kosygin deteriorated after Aleksey Nikolayevich documented the decision to send troops to Afghanistan, as taken by the full Central Committee. Although it was discussed only three people in a narrow meeting.
In the early 80s, Andrei Pavlovich’s health deteriorated sharply. At the XXVI Party Congress in March 1981, he could not correctly, without distortion, read the list of names - those sitting in the hall were shocked: a sick, weak old man stood at the podium. But this did not become an obstacle to the inclusion of Kirilenko in the Politburo.
After the death of Brezhnev, Andrei Pavlovich goes on a well-deserved rest. He lives in Moscow, every morning, out of habit, he is going to work - he does not understand what is happening … He died in May 1990, was buried at the Troyekurovo cemetery. After the death of the heirs nothing left. So the son of the communist era Kirilenko Andrei Pavlovich left.
Family: wife - Elizaveta Ivanovna, daughter Valentina and son Anatoly.
A talented leader re-created the country. He raised from the ruins after the war and rebuilt the factories. That was Kirilenko Andrei Pavlovich, whose relatives keep a memory of him.
