Kalanchoe degremona (Kalanchoe daigremontiana), or plant doctor, is a representative of tropical succulent plants of the genus Kalanchoe Craps, hundreds of species of which grow in the tropical belt of South Africa, Asia and Madagascar. Kalanchoe Degremona - standing shrub with a height of 50 - 70 centimeters with a thick powerful stem and fleshy grayish-green leaves - flower growers grow in indoor conditions and greenhouses. The edges of its brilliant leaves are hung with brood buds, from which "kids" develop - a tiny plant with roots. They easily leave the jagged edge of the sheet and also root easily in the soil.
This ornamental plant is also considered medicinal. Information about the therapeutic properties of Kalanchoe Degremona, the photo of which is presented below, appeared relatively recently. Freshly squeezed juice of the leaves of the plant successfully treat a cold in adults and children. If you chew kalanchoe leaf of this species, the patient’s condition for tonsillitis will improve. There is evidence that you can “escape” from an attack of bronchial asthma in the same way - chew a Kalanchoe Degremona leaf.
To care for this plant is quite simple. It is necessary to place a pot with light-loving Kalanchoe on a windowsill intensively illuminated by the sun, and in summertime it is preferable to find a place for a plant in the fresh air. At home, Kalanchoe Degremona grows on sandy soils, so for indoor breeding it is recommended to take loose, breathable soil with the addition of coarse sand and a small amount of peat. The pot may be small, but always with good drainage. No need to re-moisten the soil. Kalanchoe is quite moderate watering in the summer season, and in winter an unpretentious plant needs only limited watering. Its pink flowers on long stalks bloom in winter.
Kalanchoe Degremona resistant to all kinds of pests and diseases. In cases where the plant is over-humidified or contained at low temperatures, it may suffer from gray mold, aphids and flaps.
